Holiday rentals in Albania

The Albanian Riviera — Ksamil, Dhermi and the Ionian coast, where the water is clear and prices are still kind. No problem.

The Mediterranean, before the crowds

Albania’s Ionian coast has the same clear water and steep mountains as Corfu, forty minutes away by ferry, but a fraction of the development. Ksamil and Saranda in the south are the busiest; Dhermi and Himara in the middle are quieter; the northern beaches near Shengjin suit families and shorter drives from Tirana.

Stays are mostly family apartments and small villas, often new, almost always with parking. Prices are per night in euro, and we answer every enquiry personally — including the practical questions about roads, ferries and which beach is which.

At a glance

  • Best months
June and September. July and August are hot and busy, especially in Ksamil.
  • Fly to
Tirana, or Corfu in Greece and take the ferry to Saranda.
  • Beaches
Small pebble and sand coves; the Ksamil islands are the postcard.
  • Getting around
A car is essential on the Riviera. The coastal road has improved a lot but is still slow in places.
  • Currency
Lek. Euro is often accepted in tourist areas, but change is given in lek.
  • Language
Albanian. English and Italian are common on the coast.

Where to stay in Albania

The Riviera is only about 120 km long, but the road is slow and each bay feels different. South to north:

Still noticeably cheaper than Croatia or Greece — coffee, meals and apartments. Ksamil in August is the exception.

Yes for the Riviera. Buses run between Saranda, Himara and Vlora, but timetables are thin and beaches sit below the road.

Yes. Corfu to Saranda is a 30–90 minute ferry, then a 20-minute drive to Ksamil. It is often cheaper than flying to Tirana.

Mostly small pebbles and coarse sand. Ksamil and Saranda have sandier patches; water shoes help on the rest.

Yes, especially Ksamil and the shallows around Saranda. The Riviera road is winding, so plan shorter drives with small children.
